What Does the Zac Brown Band Have in Common with Main Line Spine?

And Who Is Dr. Marc Legere and What Is the PATCH Technique?

December 2025

Performing at a concert is physically intense. It demands stamina and strength, with musicians’ heart rates often matching those of athletes. Performers burn significant calories. It requires endurance for complex movements and places stress on small muscles, the back, and joints.

The Zac Brown Band is a country music band that delivers this kind of intensity in their shows. They’ve been a fixture on the U.S. music scene since 2002 and just sold out the Sphere in Las Vegas for several shows.

How does the Zac Brown Band deal with the performance stress on their bodies? They take Dr. Marc Legere, a chiropractor, on their tours. He proactively prepares them before and helps them recover after each concert.

Where else can you find Dr. Legere? At Main Line Spine’s Physical Therapy practice in King of Prussia, PA.

Musculoskeletal Pain That Creeps Up on People, Slowly, Over Time

Dr. Legere observes that for most people, musculoskeletal pain isn’t the result of a single major incident. Instead, it is more often the result of small changes in how you use your body over months and years. Eventually, if this repetitive behavior is slightly out of line, it can lead to debilitating pain.

His approach to working with patients is to first assess whether their daily routines are misaligned with proper body mechanics. For a professional athlete, such as the Phillies, with whom he has worked in the past, it might be how they throw the ball or catch a grounder. For an office worker, this may include how they use their computer. For weekend sports warriors, it could be how they swing a golf club or use a tennis racket. For members of the Zac Brown Band, it is about how they use their instruments.

He then educates his patients about subtle changes to their routines that will better align with their body mechanics.

Assessment and education are followed by treatment. Dr. Legere uses PATCH Technique, a proprietary method of myofascial release he developed to break up the scar tissue that often is the cause of physical pain and muscle tightness. PATCH comprises a combination of hands-on contacts and passive movements that vary depending on the patient’s injury, sport, or need.

His approach is also designed to help patients and athletes avoid injuries by preventing scar tissue from forming in the first place.
